Thiru B. Babu (multiple record holder) and Thiru S. Varadharajan, Chennai, Tamil nadu, had created the world’s tallest Kuthuvilakku (lamp), on 14th April, 2012.  The Kuthuvilakku was lighted to mark the launch of the world’s first state oriented records books “The Tamil nadu book of Records”. The Kuthuvilakku had a height of 30 feet and is the tallest ever in the world.

The largest toothpick mosaic, measuring 49 square meters, was created by 250 students of A.R.J. Institute of Management Studies (India) on March 9, 2012, at their college premises. It was completed in 11 hours 30 minutes, using 4,26,000 toothpicks. The mosaic was a logo to indicate the awareness towards the solar energy.

The largest button mosaic measuring 88 sq.m (11 m X 8 m), was made by 250 students of ARJ College of Engineering and Technology, Thiruvarur, Tamil Nadu, India by using 1,150 kg of shirt buttons, on March 12, 2012, at the premises of ARJ Group of Institutions. They used 9,00,288 pieces of buttons including 5 colors. The mosaic was completed in 11 hours 30 minutes.

The largest bean mosaic measuring 117 sq. m (9m X 13m) was created by 400 students of ARJ Group of Institutions, Thiruvarur, Tamil Nadu,India, by using 1,466 kg beans on March 10, 2012, at their college premises. The mosaic was completed in 3 hours 40 minutes and carried the message of “Women Empowerment”.

The largest painting of footprints was made by the 9,459 participants of A.R.J. Group of Institutions (India) in 2 days, from March 10, 2012 to March 11, 2012, by using 1,115 ltrs of colors, at the Annai Ammani Ammal Auditorium, ARJ Group of Institutions. The painting measures 1600 sq. ft and was completed in 14 hours. It depicted the logo of “Donate Blood Save Life”.

Aries Punnamada Chundan is the longest Steel Boat or Snake Boat measuring 143.25 ft long, 5.74 ft wide and weighing 8 tonnes and has a canoe crew of 141 members on board; including 136 rowers and 5 helmsmen. It was successfully rowed in public in Kerala, India, on May 1, 2008.
