The Department of Radiology and Imaging Sciences, Meenakshi Hospital, Thanjavur, Tamil Nadu, India, set a record for performing ‘Maximum Number of LDCT Lung Cancer Screening in an Hour’, under the guidance of Dr. S. Gurushankar, Chairman Meenakshi Hospital. On the occasion of International Day of Radiology, November 8, 2024, the Radiologists and Radiology Technologists successfully screened 46 high-risk individuals for lung cancer within one hour. The objective was to highlight the importance of LDCT as an essential screening tool to detect lung malignancy at an early stage of the disease, as confirmed on November 11, 2024.
