Joan Torné Tuyà of Barcelona, Spain, set a record for completing the maximum half marathons in a lifetime. He ran a whopping number of 600 half marathons from 1978 to 2022, the first in Medio maratón de Ripoll in 1978, and the last in Gran Carrera del Mediterráneo – Alicante in 2022. The total distance run by him in 600 half marathons comes out to be more than 12,658,500 metres, as confirmed on December 22, 2023.
