Abhinandhu U. (born on December 29, 2011) of Kerala, India, set a record for swimming the maximum distance across Vembanad Lake with chained hands. He swam 7 km across Vembanad Lake with chained hands (starting from Ambalakadavu of Alappuzha district to Vaikom beach at Kottayam) in 1 hour and 20 minutes on February 10, 2024, at the age of 12 years, 1 month and 13 days, as confirmed on June 17, 2024.
