Kami Rita Sherpa of Nepal set a record for performing the maximum ascents of 8,000ers by a mountaineer. He took his total number of true-summit ascents of mountains higher than 8,000 m (26,247 ft) to 38 across his mountaineering career. He has successfully summitted Everest for the 28th time in his mountaineering career, as confirmed on June 9, 2023.
