Dr. Ashwin Porwal (born on June 30, 1979) of Maharashtra, India, set a record for curing the longest fistula. He, and his team, operated on a patient on May 10, 2019, who was diagnosed with complex fistula, at Healing Hands Clinic, Pune. He took 4 hours from 15:00 hrs to 19:00 hrs to cure a 110 cm long horseshoe shaped fistula by DLPL laser surgery, as confirmed on January 21, 2021.
