Professor Peng Haijun’s team at Dalian University of Technology in China set a record for the longest distance hit by an autonomous continuum robot. The autonomous continuum robot designed and developed by the team achieved the longest distance of 30.129 metres to continuously hit and follow the moving target’s centre, relying on an end-effector carrying a laser pen, as confirmed on December 9, 2023.
