A team of 10 surgeons led by Dr. Christian Brogna in Paideia International Hospital of Rome, Italy, set a record by performing the first brain surgery where the patient played saxophone throughout his own surgery. The 35-year-old patient underwent brain surgery while being fully awake and playing the saxophone, as confirmed on May 17, 2023.
