The record for completing the fastest open water sea swimming relay was set by Raj Santosh Patil (born on January 5, 2006) of Uran, Maharashtra, along with his team. He started swimming on April 15, 2019 from the Gateway of India, Mumbai, crossing Belapur in Navi Mumbai and Dharamtar in Raigad and returned to the Gateway of India on April 17, 2019, covering a distance of 161km in 43 hours, 24 minutes and 55 seconds, as confirmed on December 13, 2019.
