HOUND, a four-legged robo-dog developed by the Dynamic Robot Control and Design Laboratory at the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST), set a record for running the fastest 100 metres by a quadrupedal robot in Daejeon, South Korea. Designed by Young-Ha Shin, the robot sprinted at an average speed of 11.26 miles per hour and covered the distance of 100 metres in 19.87 seconds, as confirmed on March 8, 2024.

Smita Srivastava of Uttar Pradesh, India, holds the record for having the longest hair in the world. Her hair measures a whopping 236.22 cm (7 feet 9 inches) long and takes 3 hours in washing, drying, detangling, and styling, while standing on a bed, as confirmed on March 6, 2024.

Oma Ram (born on July 2, 1991) of Rajasthan, India, set a record for being the fastest retro runner by completing 100M reverse running in 15 seconds and 70 milliseconds time at the Mountain Warriors Academy Jodhpur, Rajasthan, on July 2, 2024.

Jonathan, a Seychelles giant tortoise (Aldabrachelys gigantea hololissa) under the care of his long-time vet, Joe Hollins, holds the record for being the oldest living land animal in the world. He is 191 years old and has far surpassed his species’ average life expectancy of 150 years, as confirmed on March 6, 2024.

Darren Greenfield of the United Kingdom set a record for the heaviest log lift.  Despite being a leg-amputee, he lifted a whopping amount of 95 kg (209.43 lbs) log weight above his head, as confirmed on March 6, 2024.

Robert Murray of Alberta, Canada, set a record for the longest distance cycled (no hands used). He cycled a whopping distance of 130.29 km (80.95 miles) in 5 hours and 37 minutes, without using his hands, as part of a fundraising campaign for the Alzheimer’s Society of Calgary, as confirmed on March 6, 2024.

Colton Pifer of Michigan, USA, set a record for creating the biggest nasal septum flesh tunnel. He created the nasal septum flesh tunnel of size 2.6 cm (1.02 inch) in Monroe, Michigan, USA, as confirmed on March 6, 2024.

Joshua Walker of Louisiana, USA, set a record for the longest basketball shot. He shot the ball a whopping 34.6 metres (113 feet 6 inches) in Lake Charles, Louisiana, USA, as confirmed on March 5, 2024.

Sumiko Iwamura (born January 27, 1935) of Japan, set a record of being the oldest female professional club DJ. She runs a Chinese restaurant and works as a cook by day, and plays as a professional DJ once or twice a month at Shinjuku’s Decabar Z on a regular basis. She also does shows across the globe, including Paris and New Zealand, at the age of 87 years, 11 months and 16 days, as confirmed on January 12, 2023.

Kelvin Kiptum of Kenya set a record for being the fastest marathon runner at the 2023 Chicago Marathon in the USA. He finished the marathon run in just 2 hours and 35 seconds, as confirmed on March 5, 2024.
