The record for the highest altitude combat underwater diving was set by the Indian Army’s Eastern Command Special Forces in collaboration with the Indian Navy’s Eastern Naval Command MARCOS. A total of 31 personnel participated in this feat, successfully executing an underwater dive in North Sikkim at an altitude of 16,800 feet. Conducted from August 30, 2025, to September 4, 2025, this extraordinary achievement showcases the endurance, skill, and joint operational capability of India’s elite forces, as confirmed on September 11, 2025.
